DDR ENCORE SONG APPEARS IN STEPMANIA: THE MANGA
Back in early 2010. We were proud to announce that we partnered with Manga University in helping each other out promote our sites. Today we are please to see that in their free-to-read user created manga, Stepmania: The Manga, one of our songs have made an appearance in the game. "Strange Injection" by Shatter was one of our very first original songs relased on the site and it is a doozy to master. How will characters Momo the arcade maid, and Kanna the android designed to be perfect at Stepmania, handle this song? Hopefully we will find out soon enough!
Stepmania the Manga: is an all-new, original comic based on the wildly popular dance/rhythm game. Made in consultation with the game's creator, and written by up-and-coming Japanese manga artist Uno Shino, StepMania: The Manga follows the exploits of a brash high-schooler named Yukino as she is thrown headfirst into the world of StepMania by her best friend and veteran dancer, Momo, who works at the local arcade. As we edge closer to the official release of the sequal to the Pump It Up spinoff, PRO 2. They have officially released the official soundtrack for their songs on the iTunes music store today. At this time there is no new word to whether it will appear in any other music download market.
The first version of DDR for PS3 was announced at a special DDR launch party held last night, and is scheduled to be released around late 2010 in the U.S. This is an all new look to DDR so far with no definable characters or any other theme elements to this version. This version of DDR will also make use of the PlayStation Move controller for extra features simular but not exact to the DDR Hottest Party series. Extra features include a new Chain Arrow and Groove Trigger. Up to 4 players will be able to play simultaniously. Players will also be able to have multiplayer fun with only one pad using a new "Dance Off" mode which players take turns during a song to dance to. Club Mode is a new course mode with songs from 4 to 20 or unlimited and scripted modifers will turn on and off. Last year's promised 8-panel mode now comes back as "Challenge Levels" which features step charts using up to 8-panels to play. Players will also be able to upload and submit their videos for others to view as they play using the PlayStation Eye. Songs will also become available to download over time including songs from all 12 arcade versions of DanceDanceRevolution.
According to the official DanceDanceRevolution facebook page, Konami has announced that they are preparing to hold a "launch party" for the first ever DanceDanceRevolution for PlayStation 3. Quoting that this is a popular demand from all fans, this is the first news in nearly a year since the original announcement of Konami annoucing the development of a PS3 DDR. At this time there is no detail to what infomration is in reguards to the release of this new version however expect for a onsite "launch party" in L.A. on August 12th. As far as we know this party is more of an announcement party and will not actually be "launching" the game. Those not in the area can check out the coverage of this party online. According to Bemanistyle.com, Konami has developed a new design for the pads on the U.S. X series dedicated cabinets, greatly awknowledging the input from the community from the disater of DDR X. The only disadvantage is that there is no conversion kits for anything older than DDR X (sad panda face). At this time there is no open beta tests or a release date for the new version but we will keep you up to date as we receive information.
Finally we have reached the number of entries required to our special unlock condition and the final song for Season 5 is here! Out of Control by Darude. This artist's songs was featured in official DanceDanceRevolution North American home versions like Sandstorm (DDRMAX PS2), however this is one of his lesser known songs from the same album as that of Sandstorm. The stepcharts live to the name of the song for having a ever changing pattern as you play it out.

In June, not a whole lot of things went on except for this little thing called E3. DDR fans were left shocked and confused, after seeing no sign of the PS3/XBox360 versions of DanceDanceRevolution originally announced at last year's E3. With only a Wii version coming in the near future and a brand new dance game called DanceMasters on the horizon, players are skeptical about the future of DDR in North America.
Not much went on with the team too much this month since many are taking advantage of the summertime with needed rest and recreation. Not to mention the final song for Season 5 required unlocking through the completion of a challenge set by the team.
It is official, DanceDanceRevolution X2 Arcade is released in Japanese arcades today. Since it's original announcement in November, players worldwide have been on the edge of their seat for the newest edition in the BEMANI series of DDR games. Here on DDREncore we have updated in our database what details we now have on the game since its release and will continue to update as more information becomes available.

Shortly after the closure of E3, Konami has opened all new websites containing video and pictures about the upcoming DanceDanceRevolution Wii 2010 game and the DanceMasters X-Box 360 game. As you can expect there is not any new information on either of these games. However you can expect new info to show up after Japan Expo.
KONAMI PRESS CONFERENCE: DDR THE FINAL?

The Konami E3 Press Conference has just concluded and it has left some disturbing questions about the future of DanceDanceRevolution. With absolutely no revelation about the new Wii version or anything else relating to DDR, and emphasis on the new DanceMasters game for Kinect, DDR appears to be on the end of its legacy. Even Naoki Maeda said in the press conference "we will use a dance mat no more!" as he was demonstrating DanceMasters. This has left everyone skeptical about the future of DDR. So with that said we started a very simple Yes or No poll. Would you move on to DanceMasters if DDR was ended in Bemani Series? Log onto our forums and vote today!
Konami has revealed yet another new version of DanceDanceRevolution for Wii to come out this holiday season. At this time, Konami hasn't revealed intimate details to what features will accompany the new version however from the sole screenshot revealed, it appears to be yet another Hottest Party version. There still is no new word on any other new versions coming out for other platforms including the X-Box 360 and the PlayStation 3 as originally announced last year. More importantly however is the appearance of a whole new Dance game from Konami titled "DanceMasters" exclusively for the X-Box 360. This new title will make use of the all new Kinetic Camera accessory for the 360 (formerly known as "Project Natal"). Beyond their claim no other accessory is needed to play this game, there is no other information to how this will compete with other developers dance games using the Kinetic. Another first finally on our site, our first article. This article is meant for anyone who loves to play on arcade dance games. Seriously you should read this to help keep your favorite machine to play in great shape. The first in a two-part series by Myst.
Early in May, Myst and a few of the local players become restless and work in the details to start a tournament. A week later, the district manager calls saying he is going to take away ITG2 in June for another location, that is how this touranment became to be known as "In The Groove 2 the FINAL" and also became the best dance game tournament in the city of Cheyenne to date.

Konami has launced their E3 mini-site for news on all of their upcoming games through out the year. Right now the site is pretty blank as obviously the convention has yet to start. On a positive note, it has been hinted on other DDR fan sites that Maeda Naoki may have something to surprise us with at E3 in reguards to DDR, however this is unconfirmed rumor. Not sure what sort of a surprise in reguards to how much is already known about the features with the upcoming X-BOX/PS3 version... from last year's E3. Anyways the site is http://www.konami.com/e3.
