Well I was catching up on Newtype DVDs and recently caught my attention in March's issue was Emma: A Victorian Romance. I have seen pictures from this Anime in previous issues but finally got to see the first episode. Story is very simple. Emma, is a maid for a older lady who was once a governess in 19th centary Britian. It starts off when she ends up bashing a visitor to the townhome with the door who is a young attractive man who somehow starts to become attracted to her. The trick is that she is becoming torn between her life as a young woman and dedication to the one friend (the old lady she works for). Emma is nearsighted and cannot see very well without her spectacles and even then the old pair of glasses that she receive when she was a teenager are now begining to become useless. Yet even though she is being offered a new pair by the young man. She simply cannot abandon her old pair as they are a bond to the one person she serve nearly all of her life. That is just the first episode. The art is beautiful and it is a refreshing break the slew of typical stories of young boy get stuck with too many girls and is taken advantage of like in Shuffle which is on the same sample DVD as Emma. With that said. I recommend Emma for those wanting something really new to look at and get a break from your traditional run of Anime.
