As it has been revealed on Bemanistyle.com (click here for the full story), it appears that Betson will no develop uprgrade kits for DDR X. This is a shame for many locations looking to play the newest version of Dance Dance Revolution. It also appears that e-musement is also continuing to be hindered from a U.S. Release. This is highly recognized as a huge disappointment across the nation wide community. Thank goodness for Encore... Thoughts? P.S. As a reminder, our custom DDR Encore machine in the Springs has all DDR official songs including DDR X arcade.

If Konami drops Betson it's not necessarily game over. Look in Chi's megapost here. Electrocoin are Konami's distributors for Europe and Africa. Four of the UK DDR players went down there where they had two DDRX cabs to blindtest, one as normal, and one Electrocoin modded one. The modded one was surprisingly good (the pads being sensetive enough be triggered by one finger), which shows that at this moment, already they're doing a better job than Beston/Raw Thrills/whoever we're supposed to blame today by having a decent cab. I reckon that they will be able to stand up to the task if Konami lets them, considering they've been in the business for more than 30 years, and are very popular choices for those who buy/sell cabs.

Wow I am just glad to see UK even getting arcade cabinet's, I guess that Konami got something through over that old embargo that stopped SuperNOVA 2 from coming out.
At this time, the design of the machine is still up in the air. However with no intentions for upgrade kits, the odds of more business to Konami is slim. I really would like to see if they can put more effort into the arcade and continue the expansion of the arcade series into X2 and so on but right now it seems they are taking one bad turn into another in terms of the arcade business.

Personally I'd rather keep X2 a CS only mix. Frankly releasing an arcade mix now isn't a very good idea, because if the machine isn't completely perfect, it'll be doubly scrutinised over. I reckon Konami needs to take a year out from the AC market just to sort out what the hell is going on. Also this might kick-start the embarassment that is the EU CS games. It's gotten to the point where they didn't release DDR X because SN2 CS was THAT bad.

To be honest - we KNOW that if givin such grim state, someone would find a way to import the upgrades, or worst case, buy a new machine haha.
not saying this isn't horrible news, but i see that its simply a slight bump in the road for now, no doubt we can get around this, as i know other arcades may catch on to the modded scene, and be able to import this soon.
and as for the e-Amusement, didnt this get released with the GF&DM machines years ago? Id only assume that they will be able to get a working version for DDRX soon, i honestly didnt think that it would be that big of an issue for them lol.
Ya im good...ya i just beat you on Trip Machine Climax on DDR-GB3....no i dont have a life T_T
